Lynn's complete info dump: Now starting with this model year, besides the 4.9 liter Windsor V8 that Ford called a “5.0,” Ford also offered a 5.8 liter engine. The regular five oh only generates 130 horsepower, but the five point eight gets 180… which may not sound like a lot, and it’s definitely not fuel efficient, but when you run a V8 at low horsepower, it will pretty much run forever as long as you do regular maintenance. The thing about the panther platform is that there’s a reason Ford built their fleet cars off of it until the 2010s. So fun fact, a red Mercury Grand Marquis which is visually my car’s twin featured in the famous car chase in To Live and Die in LA. Of course, that wasn’t an 86, but an 84 most likely  based on when the film was shot, but it’s a great car chase. The Crown Vic and Lincoln town car, of course, are almost identical to this – and besides the four door sedan, Ford also built this as a two door and a station wagon. Most folks want the Wagon, but like I said, my mom gave me this car - and it’s the last thing I have of her. But check out the interior, it’s just so comfortable… you’ll notice the front seats are separated but…
