So I've said this before, but my intention has always been to take a break from the Mia Graves books once I finished book five. And, well, with the fifth book, The Perfect Host coming out in August (pre-order it!) that means I need to figure out what the heck [Read More]

I did a nice thing for a stranger today. I'm not going to bother saying what it was, or give any details about the interaction beyond saying that it cost me zero dollars, just a few seconds of my time, but still made a tangible difference in that person's seemingly [Read More]

Purring doesn’t strictly translate as ‘I’m happy’. Injured and frightened cats will purr in an effort to calm and try to sooth each other, despite being very unhappy.
It’s true that cat’s will ALSO purr in distress, but most cats I’ve encountered in my life will let you know if they don’t want to be held a certain way REALLY QUICKLY.
Those hind legs aren’t being restrained, and Lynn definitely didn’t declaw him.
True. Wasn’t meaning to imply this particular cat was distressed in this specific situation.
Tried coming up with a more accurate translation for purring, didn’t care for my results, so left them off, not considering what that lack might imply.
On new translation, purring seems more a “I’m here for this, whatever ‘this’ is”
Eh, tone on text on the internet is hard.
